Anniversary Hearts

Hi there

No challenge entry for me this time, to be honest I'm still trying to find them all so this could be suitable for lots I haven't found yet! How do you keep track of challenges?  I'd love to hear how you schedule and organise yourself around them. 

Here is a card I made for the anniversary of some good friends of mine...

This was a very quick and easy card using all Clearly Besotted products, apart from the gems.

Birthday Girl

Hi guys

Just a quick post tonight to share a card I've made using a stamp from a set I recently bought by The Greeting Farm.  I seem to be doing a lot of flowers and butterflies lately so I thought I'd try something different.  This also gave me any chance to practice with my ProMarkers and FlexMarkers again.

Muse Challenge #23

Evening guys

I saw the new challenge at Muse pop up earlier today and was delighted to see that Anita at My Papercraft World has got the Guest Designer spot this week and very deservedly so.  I've been following Anita's blog for a while now and her cards are just beautiful.  So congratulations, Anita!

The minute I saw her gorgeous card (I've included it lower in this post) I had a vision in my mind of what I wanted to create, and here's what I've been making this evening...

 

 



I was inspired by the round sequins and black lines on Anita's card and these reminded me of balloons and their strings so I rotated the design and made my focal point vertical instead of horizontal.  I stamped and die cut the balloons and popped these up on 3D foam to add dimension and then finished off with similar placement of the sentiment and gems.

• Ink: Versa Color - Orchid, Sky Blue, Heliotrope; Versafine - Onyx Black
• Cardstock and gems from stash

This afternoon, after spending ages listing items on eBay (zzzz...) I dragged myself away for a while to make another card.

This time I inked up my Clearly Besotted Stamps 'You Are' set for the first time and I love it.  This isn't my greatest example of stamping and masking, I made a few little errors, but I thought I'd share it with you anyway as it took quite a while to make.  Its been such a dreary old day here today so I used some nice bright summery colours :)

I'm entering this one into the following challenges:

CAS on Sunday - One Layer

Less is More Week 125 - Happy Birthday

Morning lovelies

I woke up really early this morning and no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't get back to sleep so I ended up getting up and got stuck in to some more crafting.

It's Jen Nelson's birthday so the challenge at Less is More this week is to make a card that Jen would like.

I tried to create something in a 'Jen Stylie' and here's what I came up with...

I recently purchased a paper pad by Fancy Pants and I love these designs, aren't they gorgeous, so I knew I wanted to use these for this card and I also chose a natural card base.  Jen loves butterflies so I incorporated these as well as a bit of matting and layering and, instead of stitching, which Jen loves to do (I don't have a sewing machine to hand), I edged my mats with some paper piercing. 

I love these neutrals combined with the kraft, I think this paper pad will be making lots more appearances!

Muse Challenge #22

Hi guys

We've had a dull and rainy morning here in the South West so I thought I'd spend some time creating my entry for this week's Muse challenge.

This week we were given a very clean and graphic design by Marion Vagg, which I've detailed further down in this post.

I was inspired by the horizontal banner of graduated blues and here is my card...

I had a vision in my mind of how this would look but after looking through my inks I only had three different shades of blue.  So the graduation didn't really work as I hoped but I'm still quite happy with the result.  Shopping list for next month...more ink!

I worked with the idea of starting out with big flowers in dark blue, graduating to small flowers in paler blue.  I edged the stamped banner with some score lines, not too easy to see in the photograph, and finished with a small sentiment and butterfly using the same blue shades.

• Stamps: Penny Black - T for Transparent 'Salutations' (2 larger flowers); Wild Rose Studio - Everyday Greetings (sentiment, small flower and butterfly)
• Ink: Versa Color - Royal Blue, Sky Blue, Baby Blue
• Card base from stash

Clearly Besotted Challenge #1 - Take 3!

Hi guys

Well today started out very miserable, cloudy and muggy down here in the South West but this evening its beautiful and as it was bright and sunny in my flat when I got home from work I thought I'd make another card while I had some decent daylight and could photograph it too :)

I've still got my box of gorgeous goodies from Clearly Besotted Stamps out from my stash so here's my third entry for the first Clearly Besotted Challenge.  There's still time to enter and its great that this first challenge has a theme of  'Anything Goes' so if you own any CBS products you can enter as long as you use at least one :)

The colouring took a while as I'm still getting to grips with my FlexMarkers but I think I'm getting better with my blending. 

 

While travelling through Blogland I've picked up a little tip which is to outline coloured images with a pale blue marker, not sure if you can see it too well in the following photo but it really does make a difference and give the image some definition.  The card I used to stamp the image on isn't the best so its not as sharp as it could be, the colours did bleed a little.

 





 

I thought this sentiment didn't belong on a busy card so I've kept the whole thing very simple.  Just a bit of layering and I curved the sentiment stamp to follow the stem and finished with a few gems for balance.
