Purple Lacy Wedding

Hi there

Last year I made some wedding invitations and bridesmaid invitation cards for a friend.  I took the photos at the time but never got around to sharing them.

She's getting married this month so I thought now was a good time to share them.

The brief was that the colour theme was Cadbury purple and, after a few mock-ups this was the design we agreed on...

I started with some white cardstock panels die cut using a stitched rectangle die.  I then stamped each one in VersaMark with this gorgeous lace stamp and heat embossed in white.  Next came the tiring part, ink blending each panel, this being the emboss resist technique.  My right bicep certainly grew in size after blending all these!

I then cut some strips of vellum and heat embossed the word 'Wedding' in white and wrapped these around the panels, securing on the reverse.  The panels were adhered flat to the card bases and I finished them off with some silver gemstones in the centres of the lacy flowers.  I blended all of these using one of the mini Distress Ink cubes.  They certainly go a long way as, although I bought a spare, I'm still using the original one!

The bride created her own inserts.

Here is the fun design for the bridesmaids' invitation cards :D

I printed the wording and die cut each with the same stitched rectangle die as the invitations.  Below the wording I embossed the rings in silver, these also from the Happily Ever After set by Clearly Besotted.

The panels were then matted onto some purple cardstock and adhered flat to the card bases.

Anniversary Bunting

I thought I'd pop back today to share another of those anniversary cards I made a few weekends back, to build up my stock.

All the cards I made that day have since been grabbed by my mum and my auntie so I'm back to zero again! lol

Although not intended for a Golden Wedding Anniversary, this one could be used for that very purpose because of the gold and white theme...

I bought this bunting die ages ago but it was still waiting for its first use.  I cut one in white and one from some gold cardstock.  I adhered the white die cut flat to the card base and then adhered the little gold hearts taken from the gold die cut and adhered these in the little negative spaces.  A pretty simple idea but believe me, they were fiddly!  I then stamped and heat embossed the Anniversary sentiment in gold and die cut it with the co-ordinating die.  I stamped 'happy' in black and then adhered the word die cut on 3D foam pads.

Muse Challenge #256 - Light Teal Anniversary

Hi guys

The designer rotation at Muse means it's back with me to provide the inspiration card for you this week. 

I use white so much but wanted to use a colour as the main focus this time.  Hopefully there are a few elements to inspire you to play along with this one.

I chose to use this lovely teal colour cardstock as a starting point.  I then stamped the leafy flourish in a co-ordinating ink and die cut it with a stitched heart (yes sorry, it's that heart again!).  Next, I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark onto a vellum strip and heat embossed it in silver.  I adhered the heart to the coloured cardstock and then wrapped the vellum around and secured on the reverse.  To finish, I added a few smooth silver gemstones to the stamped image.

Less is More Challenge #366

Good morning, crafters!

Apologies that this post is a little late, after being stranded because of the snow and awake for 36 hours I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer yesterday to write this post!  I've now had a good night's sleep and back to normality, apart from my car still being ten miles away at work! lol

So back to Less is More.  Here are the details for this fortnight's challenge...

Definition: Monochrome - 

using only black, white, and grey or tones of one colour

So, onto my cards...

I stamped the buttercup on watercolour paper with yellow ink and then watercoloured with my Zigs.  It lost some definition so I used an embossing ink pen to highlight some of the outlines of the image and heat embossed in gold.  The sentiment was also heat embossed in gold and I then added some ink splatters using my Zigs mixed with water.  The panel was then adhered to a sunshine yellow card base.

Card two...

I blended some Distress Inks along the bottom half of my card base.  I then used a stencil, spritzed with water and lifted some colour away  I then used the stencil again and blended another shade of blue through it.  I took a panel of white cardstock and used a stitched die to cut the curve.  I then stamped the butterfly in three shades of blue ink, curved a sentiment and stamped that in dark blue and adhered the panel flat to the card base.

Card three...

For this one I tried some no line colouring with my coloured pencils.  I stamped the flower onto the card base in a pale yellow ink but found it lost some definition after I coloured it (probably due to my rubbish colouring skills! lol).  I made sure I left the stamp in my MISTI so re-stamped in a coral colour once I'd finished the colouring.  I looked up Heleniums and the centre of the flower should be more of a brown shade but I didn't want to drift too far from the Monochrome theme of the challenge.  A top panel was die cut with a stitched window and the sentiment stamped beneath, and was then popped up on 3D foam.

Happy Little Stampers March 2018 CAS Challenge

Good evening guys

I almost didn't manage to write this post in time.  I planned to do it last night but got stranded at my office ten miles away by the snow and blocked roads so had to sleep on the office floor!  Such fun.....not! 

Anyhoo, I'm back home and cosy, even though we have horrific weather conditions outside so am here to announce this month's CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers.

That's all the info done, on to my card...

I used a die by HLS to cut the village scene in white cardstock and adhered this flat along the bottom of the card base. I then cut the same die cut from pink cardstock and then used a heart die to cut out a section from one of the houses.  I then adhered the pink heart in position over the first die cut.

I simply finished with a sentiment from one of the new HLS stamp sets, Dandelion Wishes, which was stamped in charcoal ink.

Pastel Floral Anniversary

Tonight I thought I'd share another of the Anniversary cards I made for my stash last weekend. 

I love how pretty this one turned out and it was fairly easy to create too.

I started by die cutting a heart aperture (sorry, it's that heart again!) from a panel of white cardstock.  Before I created the rest of the heart detail I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in platinum.  I then die cut the Gardenia flower and placed it behind the aperture, adhering the edges to the reverse of the panel.  Behind this I secured some glittered patterned paper.  The panel was then popped up on fun foam onto the card base.

Jigsaw Heart

Hi there

Back again to share another card.  This is the Valentine's Day card I made for my boyfriend.

Here it is...

I started by die cutting some red cardstock with a jigsaw puzzle die.  I adhered this to a piece of scrap cardstock and then die cut with a stitched heart die.  I cut another heart from some black glitter cardstock using a larger die from the same stack.  I made triple score lines at the top and base of the card base and then adhered the hearts, the red one being adhered on some 3D foam.  The card was finished by stamping the sentiment in red. 

The photo below captures the glitter in the black cardstock better, and the score lines at the base.
