Addicted to Stamps and More #200 - And 4th Birthday Celebrations!

Hi there

Well today there's a celebration at Addicted to Stamps are More!   Not only is this the 200th Challenge, ATSM is also 4 Years Old!  The lovely Kylie has been running this challenge since before I even discovered the wonderful world of crafty blogging and I think you'll agree that ATSM is a fabulous little challenge blog.

But I'm also a little sad today as this is my last post as a member of the Design Team at ATSM.  I've been part of Kylie's fantastic gang for the last two years (yes, really that long!) and have had an absolute ball but, after a lot of thought I feel it's the right time for me to step down.  Kylie, thank you for inviting me to be part of your lovely team and I can't wait to finally meet you in exactly a month's time! :D

Right, now to introduce this week's challenge, and we're back with this super fun Photo Inspiration Challenge...

To help us celebrate ATSM's 4th Birthday we have three fantastic sponsors all offering prizes this week...

Happy Little Stampers - $30 Gift Certificate
Paper Smooches - $25 Gift Certificate
QKR Stampede - 3 Digi Images

So I think you'll agree it's well worth playing along this week!

For my DT card I took inspiration from the polka dots and stripes, the quirky lettering style and the flower and butterfly...

I started by die cutting the happy birthday from the pink polka dot paper (making sure to keep the little bits from inside the letters!) and then affixed it to a scrap of cardstock entirely covered with adhesive.  I then cut the same lettering from the teal striped paper and inlaid these inside the pink panel, along with the little tiddly bits!  Once all stuck down I die cut with a stitched oval die and adhered this to a panel of white cardstock.  I covered the card base with the same striped paper and adhered the white panel over it. I finished off by popping up a flower and butterfly which were stamped, coloured with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers and die cut with their co-ordinating dies.

Materials used:

  • Patterned Paper: Lawn Fawn - Let's Polka, Let's Polka Mon Amie
  • Dies: Paper Smooches - Birthday Words; Lil' Inker - Stitched Ovals
  • Stamps: Clearly Besotted - Woodland Kisses (and matching dies)
  • Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black
  • Coloured with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers

Challenge entries:

I've used a few different dies on this card so I'm going to link up over at the Happy Little Stampers June Anything Goes with Dies challenge.

My teamies and I would love for you to join us this week and be in for a chance of winning one of those great prizes!  Thanks so much for popping by :)

Addicted to Stamps and More #198

Hi there

This midnight post from me signifies a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.  We've rotated around our challenge sequence which means this week it's time for...

Addicted to Holidays
(your project must relate to a holiday such as Christmas or Easter,
or you can perhaps share a vacation related creation)

Our Sponsor this week is STAMPlorations who are offering a prize of two digi images.

For my DT card this week I've gone super CAS with a Christmas card.  I love how this turned out so I may have to make a little batch of these later in the year :)

Super simple, I embossed the two part sentiment in gold and then stamped the little images to create the evergreen bough.  The panel was adhered on 3D foam strips and that was it...finished!

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Uniko - Simply Said Christmas, Background Builders Vines Winter Additions
  • Ink: VersaMark; Versa Color - Evergreen, Pinecone and Camelia
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Metallic Gold Rich

That's all from me today, why not visit my ATSM teamies if you want some more inspiration.  It's never too early to start your Christmas cards so this holiday challenge is the perfect opportunity to add one to your collection!

Addicted to Stamps and More #194

Hi there

We've whizzed around another week to the start of a new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More.  And this week we're back with one of my favourite themes...

Clean and Simple

Our fabulous sponsor this week is Happy Little Stampers and one lucky winner from this week's entries will win a $15 gift certificate!

I've used stamps by Happy Little Stampers on my DT card...

I started by stamping the butterfly in black and heat embossing with clear powder.  I then tried something new.  I coloured small areas with a teal green Inktense pencil and then blended the colour out using a Wink of Stella pen in clear.

I cut the butterfly out using a diagonal stitched rectangle die and found some co-ordinating teal cardstock to create a matching background.  I stamped the sentiment in black and mounted the image panel on 3D foam strips,

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Happy Little Stampers - Butterfly Birthday and Doodled Flowers
  • Ink: Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Embossing Powder: Rubber Stampede - Clear
  • Dies: MFT Die-namics - Inside and Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangles
  • Coloured with Derwent Inktense pencil in Teal Green and Wink of Stella in Clear

Challenge entries:

Crafty Cardmakers - Challenge #164 - Stitching, faux or real
Crafty Creations - Challenge #315 - Monochromatic

My teamies at ATSM are sharing some lovely CAS designs this week.  Why not take a look and play along with us this week.

Thanks so much as always for your visit today.

Addicated to Stamps and More #192

Hi there

There's a new challenge just starting over at Addicted to Stamps and More and following our challenge sequence, this week we're back with our regular challenge...

Make Your Mark
Please include the use of markers, paints, chalks, watercolours, etc. on your creation

Our Sponsor this week is the fabulous Sami Stamps who are offering a prize of a $12 gift certificate.

I decided to have a go at no line colouring and chose to use a Zig pen and water.  For some silly reason I chose a really detailed stamp and every petal had to be coloured separately.  I think I overworked some areas but not too bad for a first attempt, I won't be giving up the day job any time soon though!

I stamped the Chrysanthemum in a pale Distress Ink onto some mixed media paper and set to work.  I added a tiny amount of ink from the pen to the base of each petal and then drew the ink out to the tips with a wet brush.  You really don't need to add much ink as these pens are very highly pigmented.  And this was all done with one pink pen! I'm a bit disappointed that the stamped lines can still be seen, I was hoping they would soften more with the water.  Perhaps I'll try a different type of paper next time.  I finished off by adding the sentiment in black and some scattered sequins, and then mounted flat onto a purple card base (which is showing up a lot bluer in my photo!)

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Uniko - Pure Florals Chrysanthemum; Clearly Besotted - Brushed Greetings II
  • Ink: Distress Ink - Antique Linen; Versafine - Onyx Black; Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pen - Pink
  • Cardstock: Daler Rowney - Mixed Media; Bazzill Basics - Purple
  • Accents: Little Things from Lucy's Cards - Sparkling Rainbow Sequin Mix

Challenge entries:

The Crafter's Cafe - Challenge #148 - Feminine
613 Avenue Create - Challenge #174 - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

My teamies have created some lovely cards this week which can be found over at the main challenge blog.  Lots of different mediums can be used for our Make your Mark challenge so we would love to see your creations in the gallery this week.

Bye for now.

Addicted to Stamps and More #190

Hi there

Addicted to Stamps and More has a wonderful new challenge for you, starting right now.  This week we are back with a fabulous photo inspiration challenge.  Here it is...

Our sponsor this week is the fantastic Happy Little Stampers and
the prize for one lucky winner is a $15 gift certificate.

As Mother's Day has already passed in the UK I chose to take my inspiration from the multiple words, the colours, the white space around the edge and the butterfly.

For this card I used a really old wooden stamp from my stash that I bought second hand on eBay years ago and have never used.  I stamped the words image in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white powder.  I then blended over the embossing with two shades of Distress Ink before die cutting with a stitched rectangle die.  The die cut panel was then mounted onto my card base using 3D foam and then I simply added a die cut butterfly and some smooth gems to finish.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Elzybells - It's a Girl Thing
  • Ink: VersaMark; Distress Ink - Picked Raspberry, Dusty Concord
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Opaque Bright White
  • Die: MFT Die-namics - Stitched Rectangles; Clearly Besotted - Butterfly Duo Die Collection
  • Accents: Papermania - Glazed Gems (Iridescent)

Challenge entries:

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Butterfly Beauty
Stamping Sensations - April Challenge - One for the Girls
The Paper Players - Challenge #291 - CAS Butterflies

My teamies at ATSM have created a lovely and diverse collection of makes this week so why not pop over there and take a look.  We would love to see where this week's photo inspiration takes you.

Addicted to Stamps and More #188

Hi there

It's late on a Tuesday, or perhaps early on a Wednesday which can only mean it's new challenge time over at Addicted to Stamps and More.  We've moved onto the next theme in our regular sequence which is...

Holiday
(a public holiday such as Christmas or Easter, or vacation themed cards this week please)

Our sponsor this week is the fabulous A Day for Daisies who are kindly offering a $12.00 gift certificate as a prize for this week's winner.

Easter has passed and so has Mother's Day here in the UK so I decided to add another Christmas card to my 'very small' stash of 3 so far this year!  It did seem a little odd creating a Christmas card when Spring has finally sprung but it's never to early to build that collection is it?!

Here's my DT card this week...

I used my shiny new Mini MISTI for the first time to create this card.  It's so great for getting crisp images but I will say, it's not very user friendly when stamping off the edge as there's not enough free space around the card area, the original MISTI would be better for that.  But I must say it's well worth purchasing...I will certainly be using it when stamping within the card area and especially sentiments so as not to ruin my cards right at the end!

This design was pretty simple.  On a panel of cardstock I stamped the leaves.  I then stamped the poinsettias and die cut them out with their co-ordinating die, and then did the same with the sentiment banner.  I adhered the panel to the card base using 3D foam strips and then adhered the poinsettias, one on 3D foam as was the sentiment banner.  I finished by adding some dots of gold Stickles to the flower centres.

Materials used:

  • Stamps and Dies: Clearly Besotted - Christmas Poinsettia, Mini Basic Banners
  • Ink: Versa Color - Evergreen and Cardinal; Memento - Tuxedo Black
  • Accents: Stickles - Gold

Challenge entries:

Creative Card Crew - Challenge #110 - Die Cut
Happy Little Stampers - April 2016 Christmas Challenge - Die Cuts

Thanks so much for visiting and please do pop over to the main blog for more inspiration from my teamies.  We'd love for you to join us this week.

Addicted to Stamps and More #186

Hi there

It's new challenge time over at Addicted to Stamps and More and we're back with our regular challenge, and everyone's favourite...

Anything Goes
Just get creative and share your projects with us over at ATSM

Our sponsor this week is SLS Lines and they are offering 2 digital images to one lucky winner.

For my Anything Goes DT card this week I decided to go super simple as that's just what I love to create...

As I do more often than not I started with a panel of white cardstock slightly smaller than my card base.  Each of these daisy stems are one stamp but as I use small ink cubes it's easy to ink up the stems and blooms separately and then stamp all at once.  I just love these delicate sketchy images, they almost look like they are drawn with coloured pencils (I wish I was that artistic!).  I stamped the sentiment in black and popped the panel up on 3D foam strips.  And that was all there was to it!

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Stampin' Up - Both Way Blossoms; Wplus9 - Strictly Sentiments
  • Ink: Versa Color - Bamboo and Marigold; Memento - Tuxedo Black

Challenge entries:

Creative Card Crew - Challenge #109 - CAS
Addicted to CAS - Challenge #84 - Delicate
Crafty Creations - Challenge #311 - Spring Fever
My Time to Craft - Challenge #317 - Flowers
STAMPlorations - March CAS Card Challenge - Anything CAS Goes (Yellow)

Thanks so much for visiting today.  If you have the time please drop by each of my teamies, they are sharing some lovely creations this week.

Bye for now!

Addicted to Stamps and More #184

Hi there

I'm back to introduce another new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More.  This week it's the turn of my favourite of all our regular challenges...

CAS (Clean and Simple)
If you are unsure of the challenge guidelines you can find them here.

Our sponsor this week is STAMPlorations who are offering a $10 gift certificate to one lucky winner!

Without further ado, here's my DT card...

I made this card for my boyfriend's mum for Mother's Day.  I stamped the daffodil onto a panel of white cardstock and coloured it in with my Zig markers, blending the colour out with some water.  When the panel was completely dry I ran it through my Big Shot using a wave embossing folder.  I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of white cardstock and adhered this over the panel before mounting the whole panel on 3D foam to my card base.  A few sequins were added to finish.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Clearly Besotted - Just Darling
  • Ink: Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Coloured with Zig Clean Color Brush Pens
  • Embossing Folder: We R Memory Keepers - Next Level 'Wave'
  • Accents: Little Things from Lucy's Cards - Icicle Sequin Mix

Challenge entries:

This is the first inking up of the Just Darling CB set and also the first time I've used this embossing folder so I'm linking up over at Darnell's fabulous NBUS Challenge #6 - Anything Goes
STAMPlorations - March AG CAS Challenge - Optional colour yellow
Stamping Sensations - March Challenge - Flower Power
Dream Valley - Challenge #126 - Mother's Day

There are some lovely creations in our DT gallery this week if you need some CAS inspiration.  We'd love for you to join in the challenge this week.

Bye for now

Materials used:

  • Ink: Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass; Versafine - Onyx Black; VersaMark

Addicted to Stamps and More #178

Hi crafters

Another week has whizzed by and it's time for another new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More.  Our sequence of challenges has moved on to the next theme which means we're back with...

Addicted to Holidays
(create a project relating to a holiday such as Christmas, Easter, etc. or create a vacation themed project)

Our sponsor this week is DRS Designs who are offering a prize of a $10 gift certificate to our lucky winner.

I've used one of its designs on my DT card this week...

I started by printing the digi image onto some white cardstock.  I then masked off the snow banks at the base and blended various colours of Distress Inks to create a Northern Lights effect.  I only have one type of cardstock that will successfully go through my printer which, unfortunately, isn't the best for blending, it was a bit 'squeaky' and not fun to use at all.  But for the effect I was trying to create I think the uneven blend actually works ok.  I stamped the sentiment then mounted the panel onto a black frame before adhering to the card base.  I finished by adding some 'stars' using a white pigment pen and added some Stickles to the snow banks for that all important Christmas sparkle.  And there you have it, my first Christmas card of 2016 in the bag!

Materials used:
  • Stamps: DRS Designs - Triple Tree with Snow; Happy Little Stampers - Mixed Christmas Sentiments
  • Ink: Distress Ink - Twisted Citron, Broken China, Festive Berries, Squeezed Lemonade, Black Soot; Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Accents: White Signo Uni-ball pen; Stickles - Crystal

Challenge entries:

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge - Challenge #265 - Use a sentiment
Creative Inspirations - Challenge #343 - Anything Goes
Inkspirational - Challenge #100 - Blast from the Past (previous colour challenge) - Neons

AAA Cards - Game #56 - Winter Wonderland

My teamies have created a wonderful selection of different projects for you this week so why not pop over and grab some inspiration. And as this is a holiday challenge, why not take the opportunity to get an early start on your Christmas cards! ;)

Hi guys

There is a brand new challenge just starting over at Addicted to Stamps and More.  This is our last challenge for 2015, with the next one scheduled for the new year to give the team a little break over Christmas.

So, on to this latest challenge and we're back with one of our regular themes and my personal favourite...

CAS (Clean and Simple)
The challenge guidelines can be found here

Our sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo Digi Stamps and the prize for one lucky winner will be

I decided to go super simple for my DT card this week, using a new stamp set which I LOVE!

I cut a white cardstock panel slightly smaller than my card base and stamped two balloons directly onto it.  I then added the 'strings' as well as a string for a third balloon which was stamped and die cut using it's co-ordinating die.  The sentiment was then stamped underneath the strings and the die cut balloon popped up on 3D foam, as was the cardstock panel.  That was it, so simple :)

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Clearly Besotted - Got Your Number (balloons with matching die), It's a Celebration (sentiment)
  • Ink: Versa Color - Royal Blue, Grape, Opera Pink; Versafine - Onyx Black

Addicted to Stamps and More #172

Hi guys

Can you believe it's time for another new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More?!  Where do these weeks go?  Those of you that follow the challenge will know we follow a sequence of challenge themes and this week we're back with our regular theme...

Make Your Mark
You can find the challenge guidelines here.

Our Sponsor this week is the fabulous Stamporations and one lucky winner will receive a $10 gift certificate!

Here's my DT card...

Although I'm in desperate need of some Christmas cards right now I went ahead and made a girlie birthday card!  No idea why! lol

I stamped this lovely image from The Greening Farm and learned the hard way as, after completing my first coloured image I stamped the sentiment at the end and then dropped my stamp right over the image! Arrghhhh......so I had to start the whole thing again from scratch!

On a white cardstock panel I stamped the image and then stamped the sentiment alongside BEFORE I commenced my colouring!  I coloured the image with my ProMarkers and FlexMarkers, although I'm still struggling with my lack of blendable shades (note to self...stop buying stamps and get more markers!).  I covered the card base with some neutral polka dot paper and then adhered the panel in the bottom right corner.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: The Greeting Farm - Rain Snow Shine; Clearly Besotted - It's Your Birthday
  • Ink: Impress - Jet Black; Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Coloured with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers
  • Patterned Paper: MFT - Dots & Stripes Neutral

Challenge entries:

613 Avenue Create - Challenge #151 - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar - Challenge #173 - Anything Goes
Without Words - November Challenge - Winter Birthday
AAA Cards - Game #53 - Anything Goes

There's a really diverse selection of creations by my teamies this week so, if you have time, I'm sure they would love for you to visit their personal blogs.

Why not Make Your Mark and play along with us this week.

Thanks for stopping by.

Addicted to Stamps and More #170

Hi guys

It's time for another new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More and with winter and Christmas fast approaching we have a very seasonal Photo Inspiration Challenge for you this week.  Here's the pic to inspire you...

Kylie's fabulous company, Happy Little Stampers will be sponsoring this week's challenge and one lucky winner will receive a $15 gift certificate.

Here's my DT card, I used the colours, the twigs and the red spheres as my inspiration...

On a white cardstock panel I stamped the twiggy branch in the top left hand corner.  I then stamped the tiny bauble in red and its super tiny topper in black and then used a black fine liner pen and a ruler to draw in the string and tie.  Next I hand cut some post-it notes and used these as masks to create the snow banks, gently blending the ink upwards from each mask.  I then used a similar scripty sentiment which I stamped in red, and stamped the single star in silver.  The panel was mounted on 3D foam and finally I added some Glossy Accents to the bauble.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Inkylicious - Twiggy Branch; Card-io - Dotty Snowflakes; Clearly Besotted - Most Wonderful and Merry Little Christmas
  • Ink: Versa Color - Pinecone, Scarlet, Silver, Smoke Blue; Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Accents: Glossy Accents and Derwent Graphik Line Maker pen

Challenge entries:

Fantasy Stampers - Challenge #49 - Winter Wonderland
Crafty Catz - Challenge #300 - Winter
Crazy 4 Challenges - Challenge #310 - Christmas

Thanks so much for popping by, and if you can, please take a look at my teamies' creations this week and see how the photo inspired them too.  We would love for you to join in at ATSM this week.
