Less is More - Week 237

Hi guys

Firstly, apologies that it's been a whole week since my last post.  It's been a hectic week at work, with me returning after a week off and my boss preparing for his two weeks away so I've just been crashing out in the evenings.  I also have my mum staying with me for a week so we've been catching up in the evenings.

Saying that, I did of course manage to make a couple of cards for the new challenge just going live at Less is More this morning.  We are back with our regular Theme challenge and this week our theme is...

Congratulations

So, an easy peasy challenge really but please remember to keep your entries clean and simple with some white space.

As most of you know I love Clearly Besotted products, that's what I have the most of in my stash and both of my cards today use CB stamps and dies.

Here's my first card...

I created an oval mask using a die and gently blended the oval using Distress Ink.  I stamped the stars in different colours of Versa Color ink.  I die cut the 'congrats' from the stamped panel, added a cardstock panel to the reverse with some adhesive added, then stacked the word die up on more white die cuts before adhering the original stamped die cut as the top layer.  I then added some Glossy Accents to highlight.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Clearly Besotted - Superstar
  • Ink: Distress Ink - Walnut Stain; Versa Color - Boysenberry, Mountain Lake, Orange and Pinecone
  • Dies: Lil' Inker Designs - Oval Stitched Dies; Clearly Besotted - Congrats Word Die
  • Accents: Glossy Accents

Challenge entries:

ColorQ - Challenge #303

Daring Cardmakers  - Talking Texture
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Spots and Stripes
Simply Create Too - Challenge #92 - Anything Goes

One of my friends brought a lovely little girl into the world this week so my second card is being sent off to her...

I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of pale pink vellum, heat embossed in white and wrapped this around a white cardstock panel.  I then stamped the onesie and the flower logo onto some polka dot paper and again heat embossed in white before fussy cutting out and popping up on 3D foam.  The panel was adhered flat to the card base and a few silver Doodlebug Sprinkles added to accent.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Clearly Besotted - Baby Love (discontinued) and Little Onesie
  • Ink: VersaMark
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Opaque Bright White
  • Patterned Paper: Lawn Fawn - Let's Polka Mon Amie
  • Accents: Doodlebug Sprinkles - Silver

Challenge entries:

Crafty Catz - Challenge #288 - New Beginnings
Cute Card Thursday - Challenge #386 - Anything Goes
Stamping Sensations - August Challenge - Anything Goes with a Stamp and a Die

Please pop by my teamies' blogs to show them some love, they have some lovely examples to inspire you once again this week.  Lots of occasions call for Congratulations cards so I hope to see your entry in our gallery this week :)
