Peachy Wedding Day

I'm back again this evening to share a commission wedding card I made a few weeks ago.

The brief was to use the wedding colours which were peach, pale pink, navy and gold and it needed to be personalised too.  I found it quite difficult to incorporate all these elements as it made the card a lot busier than the cards I normally make, but I got there in the end!

I started by cutting a navy cardstock panel and a slightly smaller pearlescent peach panel which I then ran through my Big Shot with an embossing folder.  Next I used a die to cut a tag and stamped the sentiment with VersaMark ink before heat embossing with gold powder.  I stamped and die cut the roses and leaves and arranged these on the tag, some of which were popped up on 3D foam.  The personalisation was printed from MS Word and then cut out using a heart die.  I then tied two pieces of slim ribbon together in a bow around the tag.  The most difficult part was arranging the elements on the card.  I wasn't particularly happy with the placement of the heart but I was faffing around for ages so just had to go with it in the end, although I still think it looks a little lost!

Fabulous Friend

Today I've been working on a commission card which I can't yet share with you but before the weekend was over I wanted to enter a challenge.

So, this afternoon I chose to enter the latest challenge at Muse, which has another beautiful inspiration card from Therese Calvird.  Here is my take on Therese's card, I was inspired by the layout, the roses and colours but switched them around...

And this is the Muse challenge card...

I had some new goodies arrive a few days ago from Uniko Studio so I used two of the stamp sets here, I just adore these roses.  I stamped the two-step roses and after a little masking I stamped the leaves.  I finished with the bold sentiment in black, although I'm a little disappointed that I didn't manage to stamp it perfectly, grrrr!  Anyhoo, I still love how this turned out and I think I'll be making this card in lots of different colourways.

Lovely Leaves

Tonight I'd like to share a card I've made for the latest challenge at Less is More and this week it's one layer card week and the theme is foliage.

I'm really pleased with how this one turned out...

Unusually for me I chose a coloured card base for this card.  I recently picked up some Stampin' Up cardstock from a craft sale, all of which were retired colours so I've no idea what shade this is but I love the pale olive tone.  I also chose to use the one and only Papertrey Ink product I have in my stash, the Lovely Leaves stamp set.  I bought this a while ago on eBay, the only time I've ever managed to place the winning bid for anything of this brand, it was very stressful!

I love this set as it has separate stamps for the outline and the centre of the leaves.  I stamped the stem and the outline of the leaves in green ink and then used white pigment ink to stamp the leaf centres.  I then used my Uni-ball Signo pen which contains white pigment ink to gently mark the centre of the berries.  A sentiment in the same green ink completed my card.

Now that I've used this stamp set I've got lots of ideas going around in my head so it will certainly be inked up again in the future :)

For this week's card I used a digi image by Rick St Dennis which I coloured with ProMarkers and added some highlights with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.  As the image is quite detailed I wanted to keep the rest of the card fairly simple so I covered the card base in some patterned paper and stamped the sentiment onto a fishtail flag strip.  The image and sentiment were popped up on 3D foam.

Fairy Silhouette

Tonight, I'd like to share a card I've just made for the new challenge at CASology where the cue word is 'Magic'.  

I have very little in my craft stash that would fit this challenge but one stamp set came to mind so this is what I managed to create with it...

For my first attempt at this card I stamped the image last but it didn't stamp clearly enough so that card ended up in the bin and I started again.  This time I stamped the fairy image first and let this dry completely before masking off a section of the card with post-it notes.  I also die cut a post-it note using a circle die to create the moon.  I then gently built up the background with pink, purple and indigo chalks.  I then removed the circle die and gently blended over the moon with pink chalk to make it softer and used some white chalk to soften it more and create some gentle clouds.  I finished the card by adding the sentiment.  I was originally going to add a further sentiment below which said 'believe...' but the stamp was damaged so this became the finished card.  I think I would have preferred to have the sentiment stamped at the bottom but I didn't want to create the whole project again!

Bundle of Joy

Just popping by really quickly to share a card I've just made to add to my stash.  I had no baby cards at all in my collection so I made this one, really clean and simple.

This was really quick and easy to make.  I cut a panel of white cardstock slightly smaller than the card base and die cut the pram shape.  I stamped the sentiment underneath this.  I adhered a piece of stripey patterned paper to the card base ensuring it was correctly positioned to show through the aperture.  I then popped the panel up on 3D foam and added some Doodlebug sprinkles to highlight the wheels.

Grungy Leaf Thank You

As promised I'm back with another card to share today.

I wanted to make a card for Challenge #183 at Less is More before the deadline this evening.  I love the colours in this challenge.  So, here's my card followed by the colour palette we were to use as our inspiration.

I finally managed to get my hands on some stitched dies from Lil' inker Designs so I used one of the ovals here.  I still want to add the circles, squares and rectangles to my stash but they seem to be more elusive here in the UK!  I die cut a leaf from white cardstock and then inked the splatters in the four different colours, gradually building until I was happy with it.  I stamped the sentiment and popped the oval up on 3D foam before adhering the leaf.  A few dew drops were added to complete the card.
