Uniko July/August 2023 Reveal, Release, Brand Ambassador Blog Hop and Giveaway!

Good morning!

It's release day over at Uniko and I'm here to reveal the whole release and share another card.

Here's the final card I made...

You may be wondering what stamp I used to create this tree.  Well, the diamond image is one of the smaller decorative elements from the Mid Century Modern Baubles stamp set which was introduced yesterday, as is the sentiment.  And the star is from the Mid Century Modern Christmas set.  I used my trusty Misti to get straight and lined up and used different shades of green.  I added some smooth gems as the tree baubles.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko - Mid Century Modern Baubles, Mid Century Modern Christmas
  • Ink: Altenew - Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, Moss, Evergreen, Warm Sunshine; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
  • Gemstones from stash

So, now to reveal the new products in full.

First we have the large Mid Century Modern Wreath Builder set...

And a smaller additions set, Mid Century Modern Christmas...

And another large set, Mid Century Modern Baubles...

And the new addition to the Art Deco series, Background Blocks Arts Decoratifs Christmas...

A great new sentiment set, Everyday Family...

And finally,  the first "Ink and Flip" stencil, Christmas Star...

I think you'll agree that Bev has smashed it when designing these new products.

There is even more project inspiration from the team over at the main Uniko blog, here.  And, by commenting on the blog hop posts you're in with a chance of winning the entire release!  Just visit each of the Brand Ambassadors linked over at the Uniko post.  Good luck!

Happy viewing, hopping and no doubt, shopping!

Uniko July/August 2023 Release - Introducing...Mid Century Modern Baubles

Good morning

Another introduction for you today from the upcoming release at Uniko.

And Bev has worked her magic and designed another set to add to the Mid Century Modern series...this time it's Baubles!  Such a great set with lots of elements to create numerous bauble designs and lots of sentiments too in a fabulous retro mid century modern font.

Here's my first card, and I went super CAS with this one...

I began by stamping the main bauble outline and then coloured it in using a blush pink Copic marker.  I then stamped the remaining elements, finishing with the bauble topper and sentiment embossed in gold.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Uniko - Mid Century Modern Baubles
  • Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black; Altenew - Velvet; VersaMark
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Metallic Gold Rich
  • Coloured with Copic marker

And for my second card I used simple stamping...

I chose a die cut panel of textured cardstock in a neutral shade and simply stamped lots of elements from the set.  I tried to use a mid century modern colour palette and misaligned the bow on purpose on these cards to highlight the solid and linear elements.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko - Mid Century Modern Baubles
  • Ink: Versafine Clair - Nocturne; Altenew - Velvet, Lagoon, Desert Night
  • Die: Create a Smile - Cool Cuts Double Stitched Rectangles

There's lots more to see over at the main Uniko blog, here.

The new products will be available to purchase from the Uniko website tomorrow.  I'll be back with the full reveal in the morning.

Uniko July/August 2023 Release - Introducing...Background Blocks Arts Decoratifs Christmas & Everyday Family

Good morning

Two more new products to introduce today from the latest Uniko release.

There is a great little festive addition to Art Deco series in the shape of a new Background Block.  And Bev has designed another stamp set to add to the Everyday Sentiments collection - Everyday Family, a really useful set for relatives galore.

Here is the background block in action...

I knew that I wanted to stamp this great design onto some kind of patterned paper or vellum but I was struggling to decide what to use.  Then I stumbled across this green vellum in a vellum pad I forgot I had bought and it had the perfect Art Deco style pattern so that was my starting point.  I stamped the block and then heat embossed it in copper.  I then coloured the trees and the stars on the reverse of the vellum using Copics.  I then created the copper frame by die cutting with two stitched rectangle dies and then mounted the frame and vellum on fun foam.  I chose to leave this one without a sentiment as it had a lot going on.

Materials used:
  • Stamp: Uniko - Background Blocks Arts Decoratifs Christmas
  • Ink: VersaMark
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Metallic Copper
  • Dies: Create a Smile - Cool Cuts Double Stitched Rectangles
  • Vellum: Hobbycraft - Pastels Vellum Paper Pad
  • Coloured with Copics
  • Copper cardstock from stash

And for my second card I used the new Everyday Family stamp set combined with the new Background Block, and the seasonal sentiment from a set we will be introducing tomorrow...

I chose to do the emboss resist technique here using gold embossing powder and Distress Oxide inks.  I also did some colour lifting on the stars, by adding water and blotting away the colour.  I added some random scored lines on the card base to continue the Art Deco theme.  The sentiments from the two sets were simply stamped and mounted on sentiment strips.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko: - Background Blocks Arts Decoratifs Christmas, Everyday Family, Mid Century Modern Baubles
  • Ink: Distress Oxide - Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire; VersaMark; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Metallic Gold Rich

The team are over on the main Uniko blog, here, sharing more projects using these new sets.

I'll be back with the last of the introductions tomorrow, I hope you'll stop by to take a look.

Uniko July/August 2023 Release - Introducing...Ink & Flip Stencil - Christmas Star

Good morning

Back today with more from the upcoming release at Uniko.

And today the team are showcasing a new stencil....a new Ink and Flip design which creates a fabulous Christmas star.  I've seen stencils that turn to create designs but never one specifically designed to ink up one side, and then flip it over to ink the other.  Bravo, Bev, I can't wait to see more of these in future releases (no pressure!)

Here is what can be created with this stencil...

I don't often make square cards but I opted for one here to showcase the whole stencil.  I inked up one side of the stencil, the aqua you can see here, and then cleaned it off and flipped it, to then ink up the lilac shade.  You could try all sorts of colour combos and mediums here to create great effects where the design overlaps.  Here I chose to add the snowflakes using the Let It Snow stencil and finished with an embossed sentiment from the Most Wonderful stamp set mounted on a circle die cut.

Materials used:
  • Stencils: Uniko - Ink & Flip Christmas Star, Let It Snow
  • Stamps: Uniko - Most Wonderful
  • Ink: Distress Oxide - Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, Shaded Lilac; VersaMark
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Metallic Silver
  • Dies: Hero Arts - Circle Infinity Dies

And for my second card I combined the stencil with a new stamp set which we will be introducing in a few days...

Here I ink blended with a heavier hand so the overlaps aren't so obvious.  Distress Oxides are great for this as they are opaque.  I heat embossed the bauble and sentiment from the new stamp set and coloured the bauble using Copics.  So even though this is a square stencil, it can still be used for smaller cards (this is a UK A6 size)

Materials used:
  • Stencil: Uniko - Ink & Flip Christmas Star
  • Stamps: Uniko - Mid Century Modern Baubles
  • Ink: Distress Oxide - Prize Ribbon, Rustic Wilderness; VeraMark
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Metallic Platinum
  • Coloured with Copics
  • Die: Create a Smile - Cool Cuts Double Stitched Rectangles

For more projects by the talented Bev and my fellow Brand Ambassadors, please do pop over to the main Uniko blog, here, to see this new stencil in action

The new products will be available to purchase from the Uniko website from 6 August at 9.00am BST.

I hope you'll pop back again over between now and Sunday to see the rest of the new products.

Uniko July/August 2023 Release - Introducing...Mid Century Modern Christmas

Good morning

It's Day Two of the introductions for the new release from Uniko

Here we have another set which is a great add-on set for the Mid Century Modern series...Mid Century Modern Christmas.

I'll get straight to it with my first make...

I began by stamping the tree three times, masking to be able to stamp behind.  And I also used one of the shapes from the Mid Century Modern Shapes Stencil to add the shading under the trees.  The trees were coloured with Copics and I then stamped the large sentiment from the set and finished with the stars atop the trees.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Uniko - Mid Century Modern Christmas
  • Stamp: Uniko - Mid Century Modern Shapes
  • Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black; Distress Ink - Pumice Stone; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
  • Coloured with Copics

And for my second card I combined the set with a stamp from the existing Background Builders Winter Wonderland set...

I stamped the snow from the Winter Wonderland set in VersaMark and heat embossed in white across the top of a die cut panel of kraft cardstock.  I then stamped the tree, the parcels and the star from this new Mid Century Modern Christmas set and also heat embossed these in white.  I added a little white colouring using water and a white Inktense pencil, then added the dots on the parcel using a white gel pen.  The sentiment is from another new set which will be introduced in a few days time.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko - Background Builders Winter Wonderland; Mid Century Modern Christmas
  • Ink: VersaMark; Derwent - Inktense White
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Opaque Bright White
  • Dies: Create a Smile - Cool Cuts Double Stitched Rectangles; Spellbinders - Nestabilities Classic Ovals

I hope you're enjoying these introductions.  There will be plenty more over the next few days.  Please do pop over to the main Uniko blog, here, for more inspiration from the rest of the team

The new products will be available to purchase from the Uniko website from 6 August at 9.00am BST.

I'll be back with more inspiration tomorrow using a fab new stencil.

Uniko July/August 2023 Release - Introducing...Mid Century Modern Wreath Builder

Good morning

I'm here today to introduce the first product from the latest release coming up from Uniko.

It's a new addition to the Mid Century Modern series and a great Christmas builder set...Mid Century Modern Wreath Builder.

Here's my first card...

I began with the elements that I wanted to appear in the foreground, the bow and holly, and I stamped these in pigment ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  These would then resist anything else stamped over the top.  This saved having to stamp and fussy cut them.  So I stamped the two parts of the bow in red and pink, and then the holly.  Once embossed I then stamped the two background parts of the main wreath.  I then stamped the sentiment, also from this set, in black ink before die cutting the panel and mounting onto a green card base.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko - Mid Century Modern Wreath Builder
  • Ink: Versa Color - Cardinal, Petal Pink, Evergreen, Green Tea; Altenew - Evergreen; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Clear Gloss
  • Die: Create a Smile - Cool Cuts Double Stitched Rectangles

And for my second card I used the holly elements from the set to create a background...

I tried to keep the colours of the design in a classic Mid Century Modern colour palette, hence why the berries are orange not red.  I'm not sure if that translated but I kinda like it :D  The busy background isn't my style at all but I love it and it was worth the effort making it all fit!  The sentiments are also from this set.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko: Mid Century Modern Wreath Builder
  • Ink: Altenew - Moss, Olive, Autumn Blaze, Firebrick, Lagoon, Desert Night
  • Die: Create a Smile - Cool Cuts Double Stitched Rectangles

And my final card using this set is a super simple one...

Just straightforward stamping on this one.  All one layer and then to finish I used my score board to create double score lines around the edge, avoiding the stamped images.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko - Mid Century Modern Wreath Builder
  • Ink: Altenew - Aqualicious, Orange Cream, Autumn Blaze, Lagoon, Desert Night; Versafine Clair - Nocturne

For more projects by the talented Bev and my fellow Brand Ambassadors, please do pop over to the main Uniko blog, here, to see this new stamp set in action.

The new products will be available to purchase from the Uniko website from 6 August at 9.00am BST.

I'll be back with more inspiration using another of the new products tomorrow.
