Peek-a-Boo Rainbow

Hi guys

Really quick post tonight to share a bright little card I've made to enter a few challenges:  So, without further ado, here it is...

and a closer view...

I started by die cutting the card base using the dotted die.  Then came the tricky part.  I cut a piece of thin cardstock to fit behind the front panel of the card and marked where the dots were in pencil.  I used ProMarkers and FlexMarkers to colour the rainbow stripes in blocks of two rows of dots.  I didn't want to see any colour overlaps through the holes so this took a fair bit of planning before I began colouring.  The rest was easy, the panel was adhered to the rear of the card front and I finished off with a simple sentiment.  Anyone that uses ProMarkers will know that the colour comes through the back of the card, hence the reason I used thin card as I then had to cover the inside with another panel of cardstock.

Materials used:

  • Die: MFT Die-namics - Peek-a-Boo Dots
  • Stamp: Clearly Besotted - A Little Sentimental
  • Ink: Versafine - Onyx Black
  • ProMarkers and FlexMarkers

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

CASology - Week 106 - Rainbow
Less is More - Week 182 - Anything Goes
A Gem of a Challenge - Challenge #124 - Spots and Stripes (die cut spots and stripes of colour)
Merry Monday - Anything Goes Birthday

Thanks for popping by, hope to see you again soon.  It's Friday tomorrow, so all is good :)

Addicted to Stamps and More #106

Good morning!

It's Wednesday morning and time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.  This week we have everybody's favourite challenge...

Anything Goes
Just have fun and share whatever you create

Here is my DT card...

This week's Sponsor is Eureka Stamps and they are offering 3 digis to our lucky challenge winner!

I used a digi image by our Sponsor this week and had great fun colouring it in with my ProMarkers and Flexmarkers.  I make very few cards for children so felt I needed at least one in my stock!  I like to keep my cards fairly simple but wanted to stamp some kind of background so I picked out some colours used in my image and stamped the dotted squares in corresponding ink colours and used this row of blocks to form a background for my sentiment banner.  The die I used for the sentiment strip was actually a fishtail flag but I put it back through my Big Shot and cut it shorter with the straight edge at both ends.

Materials used:
  • Digi Image: Eureka Stamps - Baby Animals
  • Stamps: Clearly Besotted - Geometric Style and In the Frame
  • Ink: Versa Color - Sky Blue, Sky Gray, Umber, Topaz; Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities - Classic Rectangles Large; MFT Die-namics - Fishtail Flag Stax

I'd like to enter this card at the following challenges:

Simply Create Too - Challenge #66 - For a Child
The Crafter's Cafe - Challenge #73 - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz - Challenge #241 - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar - Challenge #104 - For the Boys

Why not pop on over to ATSM to grab some inspiration from the fab creations my fellow Design Teamies have shared this week.  Anything Goes is an easy-peasy challenge so what are you waiting for?  You could win yourself some free digi images :)

I'd love to know what you think about my card so if you have time, please leave a comment.  Have a fab day whatever you're up to.

Scribbled Happy Birthday

Hi guys

Well, most of my stash is back where it belongs so I've been able to have a little crafty time tonight.

I wanted to do a colour challenge so I chose to enter this week's challenge at Colour Me, before the deadline tomorrow.

Here is my card...

and here is the colour palette for the challenge...

I chose to use a wooden stamp I've owned FOREVER, this was one of the first stamps I ever bought.  I stamped with VersaMark and then heat embossed in black.  I then started colouring in the different sections created by the scribble design with ProMarkers.  The coloured panel was matted on some black cardstock and I finished the card off by adhering the 'happy' which was die cut from some gold cardstock, some sequins and stamping the 'birthday' sentiment.  I originally left some of the sections white which I think looked better but the gold die cut 'happy' became lost against the busy background so I continued to colour it completely.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Hero Arts - Scribble Background (wood mounted); Clearly Besotted - Butterfly Wishes
  • Ink: VersaMark; Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Embossing Powder: Stampin' Up - Black
  • Dies: Clearly Besotted - Happy Word Die; Spellbinders Nestabilities - Classic Rectangles Large
  • Sequins: Doodlebug
  • Cardstock from stash

I am also entering this card at the following challenge blogs:

Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes
The Crafter's Cafe - Challenge #73 - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz - Challenge #241 - Anything Goes

Thanks for popping by.  Hopefully I'll be able to get back to normal now that my craft stash is back where it should be.

I've had a lovely week off work, just doing things locally but we were so lucky with the glorious weather.  Back to work tomorrow so it will be an early(ish) night for me now.

Just for You, Friend

Hi there

As promised, I'm back to share another card with you today.  This one was made for a fab friend of mine who loves pink, glitter and butterflies, so I included all of these on her card!

I started by stamping the flourish on the card base.  Next I stamped the butterfly using 3 inks, I use the little cube ink pads so it's not to difficult to pinpoint where you want the ink.  This was then die cut using the corresponding butterfly die.  I placed the butterfly on the card base, not yet fixing it permanently, so I could curve the 'just for you' stamp to follow the curve of the wing and stamp onto the card base.  Next I added some wet glue to the flower centres on the card base and added some fine glitter, and then did the same with the butterfly wings.  Once dry I popped the butterfly up on 3D foam and finished off by adding the 'friend' word die.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Inkadinkado - Modern Flower Flourish; Clearly Besotted - Flight of Fancy and Sweet Little Sentiments
  • Dies: Clearly Besotted - Flight of Fancy and Friend Word Die
  • Ink: Versa Color - Sky Gray and Petal Pink; Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Glitter: Stampin' Up - Stampin' Glitter Dazzling Diamonds
  • Cardstock from stash

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

STAMPlorations - July Challenge - Stamps and Glitter
Charisma Cardz - Challenge #15 - Anything Goes
Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes Birthday
Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 245- Butterflies

Ok, that's all I have for now.  I have this week off work so I'm going to spend today clearing the housework so the rest of the week is mine!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, whatever you're up to - hopefully something more fun than housework!

Home Sweet Home

Hi guys

My craft stash is up in the air at the moment as I've had to move it all to the lounge as I'm having a new carpet laid in my hall tomorrow, which is where my craft stash cupboard lives!  So today I will share a couple of cards I've made recently but not yet posted here.

The first is a new home card which I am going to enter at the current challenge at CASology where the cue word is 'Pet'.  I had a couple of pet tortoises when I was a child so I thought this would be an ideal entry.

Really simple stamped image, coloured with ProMarkers and cut out with a rectangular die.  I mounted it on some jute ribbon (an absolute bargain at £1 for a roll at my local garden centre!) and added some Wink of Stella to the hat.  Although, I have no idea why this little chap is wearing the hat on his shell and not his head! lol

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Woodware - Home Sweet Home
  • Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black; Versa Color - Green Tea
  • Jute Ribbon from stash
  • Accented with Wink of Stella

I'll be back very soon with another card I made recently.  Hope to see you shortly :)

Lots of Love

Good morning

A few weeks ago this card earned me the joint top spot at Crazy for CAS and I was lucky enough to be offered another Guest Designer role which is for today's new challenge.

And that new challenge is a sketch.  Here is my card and the sketch inspiration.  (I really must sort myself out with a new camera, these tones are more teal and mint than blues, it drives me bonkers how some colours just don't appear as they should!)

Apart from the sequins and the ink my card is made up purely using Clearly Besotted products.  I LOVE them!  I stamped the large butterfly first then masked it off so I could stamp the chicken wire strip, which I did by just partially inking up the stamp.  I then stamped the small butterfly on its co-ordinating die cut.  I die cut the banner and curved the sentiment stamp slightly to fit the curve of the banner.  This and the small butterfly were popped up on 3D foam and a few sequins were added to finish.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Clearly Besotted - Flight of Fancy, Background Builder III
  • Dies: Clearly Besotted - Flight of Fancy, Mini Basic Banners
  • Ink: Versa Color - Lagoon Blue, Mint, Sky Gray; Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Doodlebug Sequins

Crazy for CAS is a great little challenge if you love clean and simple designs so why not head over there, get some inspiration from the Design Team and have a go yourself.

That's all for now, hope to see you again soon.

Addicted to Stamps and More #104

Hi guys

It's Wednesday morning and that means there is a fresh new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More. We have a different genre each week and this week's theme is...

Addicted to CAS
We want to see your Clean and Simple creations

CAS style is fast becoming my favourite and although I've been creating many one layer cards lately, I've used a few layers on today's card while also keeping within the clean and simple theme.

Our sponsor this week is Eureka Stamps and they are offering the fabulous prize of 3 digis.

For my card I used one of the Eureka Digi Stamps, Kitty Peeker, and coloured him with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers before fussy-cutting him out.  I then stamped the Happy Birthday onto a white cardstock panel slightly smaller than my card base and also coloured this in with my markers.  I added a little touch of Wink of Stella to the ribbon on the parcel.  Next I die cut the label square and adhered some patterned cardstock to the card base in the position of the aperture before popping the panel up on 3D foam strips.  The cute kitty was also then popped up on 3D foam and positioned peeking out of the window.

Materials used:
  • Digi: Eureka Stamps - Kitty Peeker
  • Stamp: Papermania - Typography Happy Birthday
  • Die: Spellbinders Nestabilities - Labels One
  • Patterned Cardstock: Pebbles - Basics Cardmaking Pad 2
  • Coloured with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers
  • Accents: Wink of Stella

There are some fab creations by my fellow Design Team members over at ATSM so why not pop over and grab some inspiration.  We'd love to see your CAS creations this week.  If you're unsure of the challenge rules you can find them here.

I'd also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

A Gem of A Challenge - Challenge #123 - Animal
The Cutie Pie Challenge - Challenge #73 - Use a Cute Digi
Charisma Cardz - Challenge #15 - Anything Goes
CASology - Week 104 - Pet

Thanks for popping by today and as always, I'd love for you to leave a comment and let me know what you think of today's card.

Bye for now

Bullrush Sunset

Hi guys

I'm back with the second card I've made for the new one layer challenge at Less is More, to 'Adapt a Fingerprint'.

I made use of my chalks on this one, something I haven't used for a long time...

I used a large post-it note to mask off one side of the card base and then used my chalks to blend a sunset background.  I then used the side of my little finger to stamp the bullrushes.  This was my second attempt at this card.  For my first attempt I got this far and then hand drew the stems but I really wasn't happy with them so I started again and raided my stamp collection.  This time, before stamping my fingerprints I stamped the stems, part of a stamp, then made the fingerprints, before hand drawing in the tips with a fine liner.  The little flying birds are also from the same set. This looks like a very peaceful scene so I decided to make this into a sympathy card, stock I have very little of as they are never easy to make at a sad time.

Materials used:

  • Chalks: Craf-T Products - Decorating Chalks
  • Stamps: Kanban - Spring Meadow; Clearly Besotted - Many Messages, My Fingerprint
  • Ink: Versafine - Onyx Black

I would also like to enter this into the following challenge:

CAS on Sunday - Challenge #37 - One Layer Wonder
Addicted to CAS - Challenge #42 - Sky (thanks to Loll for reminding me!)

Using fingerprints is great fun, why not have a go if you haven't already.  It's like being back at school! :)

Bye for now

Fingerprinted Four Leaf Clover

Happy Saturday!

When I saw the new challenge set by Less is More this morning I had all sorts of ideas flowing through my mind.  We have been challenged to make a one layer card and to 'Adapt a Fingerprint'.  What a fun challenge :)

This was actually my second idea but the first one will take longer so I created this one first!

I knew that the leaves of clovers were roughly heart shaped so I started by using the negative of a die cut heart as a mask.  I tried this out on some scrap paper first but all the heart dies I had weren't quite right, either the notch at the top was too pronounced or the heart was too wide for my finger or thumb!  So I created my own by folding a piece of paper in half and cutting a one-sided heart.  Then came the fun part!  I used my inked up thumb to stamp through the mask, working around a central point.  I then inked up just the stem of a leaf stamp, lightly touched the stamp with my thumb to remove some of the ink, then stamped.  After stamping the sentiment I felt my card needed 'a little something' extra as it was looking a little incomplete.  So I used a post-it note to roughly mask the clover and worked my way around the image with some grunge dots.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Clearly Besotted Stamps - Autumn Flowers (stem) and Flower Arrangement (sentiment); Stampin' Up - Gorgeous Grunge; My thumb!
  • Ink: Versa Color - Green Tea and Sage; Versafine - Onyx Black

I would also like to link this card up to the following challenge:

CAS on Sunday - Challenge #37 - One Layer Wonder

That's all for now, I hope to be back again very soon to share more craftiness with you.  Have a lovely weekend whatever you're up to.

Bye for now

Earth Tones Wreath

Hi guys

Just a super quick post tonight to share a card I've made for this week's challenge at Less is More where they have a colour challenge to use 'Earth Tones'.

These are not colours that I generally reach for but I really quite like how this card turned out.  Apologies for the photography, the battery died on my camera so I took these on my mobile so not the best!

I used some coloured cardstock to create the card base for this one, something else I don't usually reach for as I don't have a lot of good quality coloured cardstock in my stash.  I then cut a white panel slightly smaller and used a circular die to lightly mark a circle in pencil.  I then roughly planned out a design using individual stamps from a set by Uniko Studio, and worked my way around the circle.  I finished with a central sentiment before ensuring the ink was dry (I used pigment ink) so I could erase the pencil marks.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Uniko Studio - Background Builders: Vines; Woodware - Salutations
  • Ink: Versa Color - Sand Beige, Paprika, Bisque, Umber, Bamboo, Green Tea; Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Cardstock: Colour - Stampin' Up; White - Neenah Classic Crest

I would also like to link this card up at the following challenge:

Charisma Cardz - Challenge #15 - Anything Goes

That's all from me today, I'll be back in a day or two with more to share.

Watercoloured Waterlily

Hi there

Today I'm sharing a card I've just made, initially for the CASology challenge but I've also found a few more challenges to combine which are listed below.

The challenge this week at CASology has the cue word 'Float'.  Here I've used a waterlily stamp from a Clearly Besotted set I've had for some time, but I'd not yet inked up this particular stamp.

I used the waterlily die to cut out some watercolour paper.  I then stamped the co-ordinating waterlily in grey ink as I thought black may be too harsh for a watercolour image.  In hindsight I think I should have used something even paler.  I then squished my green, pink and yellow inks onto an acrylic block and coloured in the image using a waterbrush.  I used some fishtail flag dies to cut out three pieces of patterned paper and layered these up before adhering the waterlily on top using 3D foam.  I stamped the sentiment in the same grey ink and finished off with a few 'water droplets' of glossy accents.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Clearly Besotted Stamps - With Love and Pretty Petals
  • Dies: Clearly Besotted - With Love; MFT Die-namics - Fishtail Flag Stax
  • Ink: Memento - London Grey, Angel Pink, Rose Bud, Cantaloupe and Cottage Ivy
  • Patterned Paper: Hot Off The Press - Cardmaker's Ultimate Pack, Floral
  • Glossy Accents

I'd also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Love to Create - Challenge #122 - 3 or more Design Papers
The Friday Mashup! - Challenge 167 - Watercolour Wash / CAS
AAA Cards - Game #10 - Play with Watercolour Techniques
Brown Sugar - Challenge #101 - Anything Goes

I hope to be back again soon with more to share.  I've had a hectic weekend so this is all I can share at the moment.

Hope to see you soon :)

Happy Birthday, Kylie!

Hi guys

My post today is in honour of the lovely Kylie of Kylie is Addicted to Stamps, and owner of the Addicted to Stamps and More and Addicted to CAS challenge blogs.  Kylie recently asked me to become a member of her Design Team at Addicted to Stamps and More and she, along with my fellow teamies, has made me feel so welcome, I know I'm going to have a fab time creating with them!

It's Kylie's birthday today and the wonderful Loll of Stamping with Loll is holding a linky party to celebrate and has asked me to join in the fun. So...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KYLIE!

Here is the card I've made for you.  Of course, I just HAD to use butterflies and who doesn't love a bit of bling?!

I cut a fishtail flag panel from some white cardstock and stamped the butterflies with VersaMark ink.  I then used four different embossing glitters before attaching the panel to the card base.  The card was then finished with the sentiment.  I was going to add some sequins or gems but I think the bling in the embossing glitter alone is all that was needed.  I hope you like it, Kylie :)

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Clearly Besotted Stamps - Elegant Butterflies, Sweet Little Sentiments
  • Ink: VersaMark; Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! Embossing Glitters - Sugar & Spice
  • Die: MFT Die-namics - Fishtail Flag Stax

Why not join in and say Happy Birthday to Kylie by popping over to see Loll and linking up.  Kylie knew nothing about this until now and I'm sure she'll be thrilled if lots of us could join the party :)

That's all from me for now, hope to see you very soon.

Eeeeeek...I'm so excited!!!

Hi guys

Today I can finally share some exciting news I've been dying to spill for a while now!  I have been lucky enough to have had the chance to guest design a few times since I started Neet & Crafty but today I'm delighted to tell you, here goes...

I am officially a new member of the Design Team for the fabulous challenge blog,
Addicted to Stamps and More!

I responded to a DT call a while ago and was so delighted when Kylie, the challenge owner approached me and asked me to join their team.  I've been getting to know the team behind the scenes for a while and they have made me and my other new Teamies feel so welcome.  They are a lovely group of ladies from all over the world and I know I'm going to have great fun being part of this wonderfully talented team.

So without further ado, there is a brand new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More today which is...

ATSM Challenge #102 - Make Your Mark

This challenge means that we want you to 'make your mark' on your projects by using markers, pencils, crayons, paints, etc.

Here is my DT card

This week's challenge has a fantastic sponsor, StampArt Design who are offering the prize of 5 free digis!  I've used one of its digi stamps on my card which I was lucky enough to win on a previous ATSM challenge.

For my card I printed the digi image on some Neenah cardstock and coloured it in with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers.  I mounted the white panel onto some coloured cardstock to create a narrow frame and adhered this to the card base.  I used an oval die to cut out the sentiment, popped this up on 3D foam and finished with a little touch of Glossy Accents on the heart.

Materials used:
  • Digi: StampArt Designs - Full Bloom 2
  • Stamp: Clearly Besotted Stamps - Many Messages
  • Ink: Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Die: Spellbinders Nestabilities - Classic Ovals
  • Coloured with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers
  • Glossy Accents

Please pop over to ATSM as there are some awesome projects by the Design Team to inspire you and I'm sure my fellow Teamies would be thrilled if you visited and left some love :)

That's all from me for now, hope to see you again very soon.
