Happy Little Stampers - August 2015 CAS Challenge

Hi there

I'm here this evening to introduce the next CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers.  Our July challenge had a really good response so we'd love to see you back again for this month's challenge.

So, this month we would like to see you use Masking on your CAS creations.

Here's my DT card...

I used a die to cut curves in a post-it note to use as a mask on a panel of white cardstock.  I then blended two colours of Distress Ink to create the curved shape.  I then stamped foliage in various shades of pigment ink before removing the masks.  I finished by stamping the sentiment in black and adhering the panel with 3D foam strips.

Materials used:
  • Die: MFT Die-namics - Snow Drifts
  • Ink: Distress Ink - Shaded Lilac and Cracked Pistachio; Versa Color - Olive, Laurel Leaf, Sand Beige, Bamboo and Green Tea; Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Stamps: Uniko Studio - Natures Treasures 1; Clearly Besotted - Brushed Poppies (sentiment)

Challenge entries:

Simply Create Too - Challenge #91 - Anything Goes

There are lots of ways to create using masks, for example stamping an image then masking it off so other images appear behind it, or simply masking off an area like I have here.

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you'll join in our challenge which will be running until the end of August.
