Heart of Hearts

Hi there

I shared a shaker card with you yesterday and thought I'd come back to share another one today.

This card I made for some very special friends who have recently got engaged.

I made a shaker window using a heart die which was cut from a small die cut square.  I filled the shaker with tiny heart confetti and trapped the sprinkles inside by backing with some silver glitter cardstock before mounting the panel onto a slightly larger die cut square.  The card base and uppermost square are linen cardstock but I used smooth white cardstock for the middle square.  I adhered the shaker sandwich flat to the card base and stamped the sentiment below.

Materials used:
  • Dies: MFT Die-namics - Pierced Square Stax, Stitched Heart Stax
  • Stamp: Altenew - Leaf Canopy
  • Ink: Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Cardstock from stash
  • Accents: Little Things from Lucy's Cards - Sprinkles: Rainbow Hearts

  11. What a wonderful card! I love the subtle change in texture between the linen and smooth papers. I haven't attempted many shaker cards because I haven't figured out how to get rid of the magnetic properties of the fillers. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks for including this beautiful card in our challenge at ATCAS.

    1. Thanks, Fran. I'm no expert with these but what I do is run my anti-static powder tool around the edge of the shaker window to remove any tack from the 3D foam then just clean up the acetate with a lint free cloth before I add the fillers. Then just shake it a little to level them out before applying the backing. It may just depend on the fillers though, some may cling more than others x
