Less is More Week #352

Good morning!

And this morning I'm introducing this week's new challenge over at Less is More which is a Recipe challenge.  This week we want to see...

Any stamp layering will do, you don't have to use stamps specifically designed to be layered.

I have two samples for you today, both using stamp sets designed to be stamped in layers to add dimension...

This was super easy.  The leaves and flowers were stamped onto a panel of white cardstock cut slightly smaller than the card base, and were then overstamped with the sentiment in black.  I popped the panel up on some fun foam and finished by adding some trios of Nuvo drops.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Wplus9 - Watercolored Anemones; Clearly Besotted - Brushed Greetings II
  • Ink: Altenew - Lavender Fields, Midnight Violet, Deep Iris, Forest Glades, Evergreen; Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Accents: Nuvo Crystal Drops - Silver Lining

ETA:
Thanks to my teamie, Nonni, I'm linking up to Time Out challenge where their theme is Sympathy.  Not sure how I missed that one!

Next...any excuse to make another Christmas card to fit the challenge as I'm still so far behind this year!

On a panel of white cardstock I stamped the layered tree, the first three layers in varying shades of green, then finishing with VersaMark and heat embossed in white to resemble snow.  This panel was then die cut with a stitched rectangle die and I then wrapped around a strip of vellum with the sentiment heat embossed in gold.  This was then popped up on foam over a card base covered with pattern paper.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Hero Arts - Color Layering Christmas Tree
  • Ink: Altenew - Forest Glades, Moss, Evergreen; VersaMark
  • Embossing Powder: Altenew - Pure White; Wow! - Metallic Gold Rich
  • Die: MFT Die-namics - Wonky Stitched Rectangles
  • Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye - Oh What Fun
  • Vellum from stash

  1. Oh how I love your cards, Anita! Firstly, before I forget: would love to see your first card in our gallery at TIME OUT. :) That watercolor-look flower looks so pretty, I love the soft look and the stylish CAS layout of this card. Your second card then... What a beauty! I love the realistic looking tree and how cute is that dotty background... So pretty! Great idea to keep the color palette monochrome. Fantastic work from you as always. Enjoy your weekend! xxx

  2. Wow, wow, wow! You have some skills! These look so professional and I'm really impressed with all the right-on stamp layering you did. You've managed to pack such a visual punch with just a few images/sentiments and I always admire people who have that skill. I am one of those crafters who has to throw on everything but the kitchen sink, so I think these are remarkable! Thank you for sharing your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

  3. Two beauties, Anita ! Love them both ! The first one is so striking with its simplicity and this watercolour look ! Your design as usual is CAS as desired ! Your second card plunges us into the magic of Christmas! I mechanically turned my head towards the window to see if it was not snowing! Once again, this card is superb and so simple! Beautiful addition with the gold sentiment over Vellum. I just love it ! Another fabulous showcase from you ! Have a great Sunday and a fabulous week !

Oh, and did I mention I L-O-V-E it? 😂 And your layered Christmas tree is so pretty. I have that set and almost used it. Adding the gold embossed sentiment in vellum was a fabulous touch.
