Today at Less is More we are starting another new challenge and we are back with our regular Colour challenge. This week we would like you to use the colours of...
Fire
Please remember to keep your creations clean and simple
I have two sample cards for you this week, so let's get to it...
I squished a small amount of three Distress Inks onto my craft mat and spritzed with water. I then smooshed the ink onto a cardstock panel bringing the colours up from the bottom corner. Once dry I then repeated the process to intensify the colours. I then spritzed some water into my hand and flicked small droplets over the inked area, left for a few moments and lifted the colour away with a paper towel. I adhered the panel to my card base on 3D foam, added a vellum flourish die cut and adhered the black sentiment strip, where the sentiment was heat embossed in white.
Materials used:
- Ink: Distress Inks - Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed; VersaMark
- Die: MFT Die-namics - Leaf-Filled Flourish
- Stamp: Clearly Besotted - Many Mini Messages
- Embossing Powder: Wow! - Opaque Bright White
Challenge entries:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Thanks/Thanksgiving
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Cardmakers - Challenge #151 - Thank You
And my second card...
I masked a square on a white cardstock panel with post-it notes and blended Distress Inks in three colours. I then removed the masks and once dry, brushed over the square with my EK Success powder tool to remove any static. The sunburst and sentiment were stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed with gold powder. The panel was then popped up on 3D foam strips onto the card base.
Materials used:
- Ink: Distress Ink - Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed; VersaMark
- Stamps: Clearly Besotted - Sunburst
- Embossing Powder: Wow! - Metallic Gold Rich
Thanks so much for visiting today and my teamies and I would love to see your creations in our gallery this week.
Have a lovely weekend.
Both creations are a work of art Anita! I love the smooshed panel with the white on black sentiment and that delicate vellum flourish . . . so creative! The masking and blending in the second is a triumph and the metallic embossing sets it off just beautifully! Have a lovely weekend my friend! Hazel xx
