Apart from a couple of Valentine's Day cards which I'm going to share with you today I've had no time for crafting at all since last weekend. I've been feeling absolutely shattered in the evenings as work is just constantly hectic at the moment. I work for an insurance loss adjuster so you can imagine how busy we are at the moment with all this horrendous weather we've been having in the South West!
I did make some time to make this card for my chap...
My mojo went AWOL this week so it took a little time to figure out a layout for this one. I wanted to make a larger card too, this is A5, but I do struggle to fill the larger sizes whilst keeping a clean and simple style.
I chose a digi image and digi paper from Pink Petticoat for this one. I edged the card with the heart paper and a strip of dark grey cardstock I had in my stash. I then adhered a white panel over the top, aligned to the left, wrapped with some organza ribbon. I die cut the paper and the printed image using the same heart die and layered these together. Next I grabbed a scrap of cardstock and coloured it with a red ProMarker before punching out the hearts with a tiny punch. I then coated the three red hearts in Glossy Accents and left to dry before adding these as a finishing touch.
I made an insert for the card with a stamped sentiment and two little hearts in the corner. I don't always add inserts to my cards but it does give them a more professional finish, especially to larger cards.
Materials used:
- Digis: Pink Petticoat - Waterfall Hearts and Just For Ewe
- Die: Xcut - Nested Hearts
- Punch: Craft Creatives - Mini heart punch
- ProMarker: Berry Red
- Cardstock and ribbon from stash
- Stamps: Clearly Besotted Stamps - Happy Days and Mini Love Hearts
- Ink: Versafine - Onyx Black; Versa Color - Cardinal

I think men are difficult to buy for on Valentine's Day so I decided to put my baking skills into action and combined two of his favourite things - peanut butter and cake - and produced these Peanut Butter Brownies. I also bought this cute little glass jar to put them in. And by making these I knew I wouldn't be tempted to pinch one and ruin my diet as I don't like peanut butter so they're all for him :) And I am informed that they are yummy!
I've added the link here if you want to give them a try :)
I'll be back shortly with another Valentine card I made for an order.
Hopefully this weather will calm down soon (surely it can't go on for much longer!!) so I won't feel so exhausted from work and can find more crafty time!
See you soon and stay safe
