Happy Little Stampers January 2019 CAS Challenge

Hi there

I hope you all had a wonderful time celebrating the start of 2019.  For the first time in years I was awake and with friends at the stroke of midnight instead of in bed looking at the inside of my eyelids! Yay!

Over at Happy Little Stampers the January challenges are just starting and today is the turn of the CAS challenge.  Here's this month's cue card...

I have quite a few rolls of washi tape but don't often reach for it so this was a great opportunity use some of my forgotten stash.

I die cut some white cardstock with a stitched rectangle and then added three strips of washi tape to depict candles.  I then went through my stash only to realise that the only flame images I have were far too small so instead, I used a Quickie glue pen to draw the flames and then adhered some gold glitter.  The panel was adhered to the card base on fun foam and the sentiment was stamped and heat embossed in white onto a strip of black cardstock.

Materials used:

  • Die: Create a Smile - Cool Cuts Double Stitched Rectangles
  • Washi tape from stash (apologies, unknown brands)
  • Quickie glue pen
  • Glitter: Nuvo Pure Sheen Glitter - Light Gold
  • Stamp: Clearly Besotted - Happy Birthday (retired)
  • Ink: Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Opaque Bright White

Challenge entries:

AAA Cards - CAS Game #130 - Three of Something

Thanks so much for stopping by, and don't forget that the linkies for all the Happy Little Stampers challenges (more will be launching over the next few days) are open until the end of the month.  I hope you can join us :)

Christmas Card Multiples - Cosy Knits

Happy Sunday!

I'm back today with more of my Christmas card multiples.  Yes, I was very far behind this year so had to do a lot of mass production!

For these I used up some old coloured card blanks from my stash and reproduced the same design in different colourways.  I made about 18 of these in total.

For each of these I began by stamping and embossing the sentiment in the centre.  The red and green were embossed in gold, and the blue was embossed in silver.  I then stamped the stitched images in co-ordinating ink for a tone on tone effect.

I then topped the trees with accents.  On the blue design I added some glazed silver gems, and on the red and green versions I added a dab of glue and some gold glitter.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Concord & 9th - Cozy Christmas; Clearly Besotted - Christmas Calligraphy
  • Ink: VersaMark; Altenew - Velvet, Evergreen, Desert Night
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Metallic Gold Rich, Metallic Silver
  • Accents: Silver gems from stash; Nuvo Pure Sheen Glitter - Light Gold

Thanks so much for popping by, I'll be back with more later!

Christmas Card Multiples - Shimmering Snowflakes

Hi guys

Today I'm sharing a batch of Christmas card multiples.

For some time I've been making my card bases out of A4 cardstock, cutting to size and scoring myself.  But I still had a box of cards and envelopes in my stash which weren't getting used so for this year's Christmas cards I decided to reach for these for a change.

These card bases are so pretty, in subtle gold and lilac pearlescent card with a gorgeous shimmer.  So I kept with the shimmery theme and added die cut glitter card and metallic heat embossed vellum.

Here's the gold version...

I die cut the base snowflake from rose gold glitter card and adhered flat to the card base.  The smaller snowflake was stamped on vellum and heat embossed in platinum and die cut with the co-ordinating die.  The sentiment was heat embossed in the same embossing powder on a strip of black cardstock.  This was then adhered on 3D foam holding the vellum snowflake in place.

And the lilac version...

This was made in the same way but with the base snowflake die cut from white glitter card and the vellum snowflake heat embossed in silver sparkle.  The sentiment strip was heat embossed in silver.

Materials used:

  • Dies: Stampin' Up! - Festive Flurry
  • Stamps: Stampin' Up! - Festive Flurry; Clearly Besotted - Sentimenta; Type
  • Ink: VersaMark
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Metallic Silver, Metallic Platinum, Metallic Silver Sparkle
  • Cardstock, glitter cardstock and vellum from stash

Muse Challenge #269 - Hello Friend

Hi there

The designers' baton is back with me which means it's my turn to create a card for you for this week's Muse challenge.

I've been itching to use a couple of dies I bought last month at the Sincerely Yours Papercraft Show so I've used them together on this card.  Hopefully there are some elements here you can take as inspiration to play along.  You can choose any element(s) as a starting point, e.g. colours, layout, technique, etc.

Here's my card...

I cut a piece of patterned paper with an ombre sky effect to a size just smaller than the card base.  I then die cut the floral border and adhered this to the paper along the bottom edge, trimming to the same size.  Next I die cut the words from some white glitter cardstock to add a little bling.  I decided to single out a couple of the teeny flowers along the base and coloured these yellow, and die cut another to use as the dot on the 'i' of friend.  You can see the glittery cardstock a little better in the next photo.

All that was then left to do was adhere the panel to the card base, which I did with fun foam.

Materials used:

  • Patterned Paper: Docrafts Papermania - Capsule Elements Pigment
  • Dies: Memory Box - Broadsworth Floral Border; Pretty Pink Posh - Hello Friend Script
  • Coloured with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker
  • White glitter cardstock from stash

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I hope you can find some time to play along with us at Muse this week.

Jigsaw Heart

Hi there

Back again to share another card.  This is the Valentine's Day card I made for my boyfriend.

Here it is...

I started by die cutting some red cardstock with a jigsaw puzzle die.  I adhered this to a piece of scrap cardstock and then die cut with a stitched heart die.  I cut another heart from some black glitter cardstock using a larger die from the same stack.  I made triple score lines at the top and base of the card base and then adhered the hearts, the red one being adhered on some 3D foam.  The card was finished by stamping the sentiment in red.

The photo below captures the glitter in the black cardstock better, and the score lines at the base.

Materials used:
  • Dies: Dovecraft - Jigsaw Pieces; MFT Die-namics - Stitched Heart Stax
  • Stamp: Clearly Besotted - Mr and Mrs
  • Ink: Versa Color - Cardinal
  • Cardstock from stash

Christmas Card Multiples - Sentiment Baubles

Happy Boxing Day everyone!

I hope you all had a super day yesterday with your nearest and dearest.

I still have a few Christmas cards to share so will continue to post these over the next few days.

First up are some multiples of the same design which I mass produced when I realised I still didn't have enough in my stash (happens every year! lol).  These cards use some beautiful Christmas stamps from Uniko.

I made twenty cards in total, five of each design/colourway.  The MISTI was my best friend when making these!

I started by stamping the pine needles, blended with two different shades of green.  Next I stamped the baubles, each sentiment in a different colour.  The bows and bauble toppers were then stamped in either bronze or silver, and I then hand drew the string and tie.  I added some glue with a Quickie Glue pen to the pine needles and then accented them all with some fine glitter, although this hasn't really been captured in the photos.  You can just about see it in the photos of the red and purple versions.  They were really sparkly!

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Uniko - Winter Foliage, Labelled Christmas, Jingle Bells
  • Ink: Altenew - Forest Glades, Evergreen, Sea Glass, Ruby Red, Purple Wine, Volcano Lake; Versa Color - Silver, Bronze
  • Glitter: Cosmic Shimmer - Diamond Frost in Frosty Dawn

Here's a closer look at 'Let it Snow' in Altenew Sea Glass ink...

Here's the 'Merry Christmas' version in Altenew Ruby Red...

Next up is 'Holly Jolly' stamped in Altenew Volcano Lake ink...

And last up, 'Jingle Bells's using Altnew Purple Wine...

I'd like to link up to these challenges:

Less is More Week #358

Hi there

We're flying towards Christmas at full speed and I'm now in panic mode as I still haven't finished making my Christmas cards!  So, more mass production will be taking place today!

But before I start that, I want to introduce this week's challenge over at Less is More and we're back with the love/hate challenge that is One Layer week.  Here it is...

And the awesome Happy Little Stampers continues to be our sponsor for this month so please do play along for a chance to win the monthly prize.

Just one card from me this time.  I was hoping to make more for this challenge but a combination of a chest infection, lack of sleep and working means I've just not managed any more I'm afraid.

Anyway, here's my offering this week...

This one layer card is a combination of stamping, masking and blending.  I started with a piece of scrap paper cut into a curve and used this to mask the bottom section and gently blended to create the snow bank using a purple/blue ink.  With the mask still in place I stamped the little trees in black, some in second and third generation stamping to create some depth.  I then removed the mask and stamped the main tree trunk and branch.  I worked out where I wanted to place my lantern and before stamping it I blended the candle glow with yellow/orange ink.  To finish I stamped the sentiment, hand drew the lantern string and added some glitter to the snow.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Card-io - Mini Tall Trees, Vintage Christmas, Tall Trees; Marion Emberson - Sparkling Christmas (sentiment)
  • Ink: Archival - Jet Black; Versafine - Onyx Black; Versa Color - Imperial Blue, Marigold, Scarlet
  • Accents: Cosmic Shimmer Diamond Frost - Frosty Dawn

Happy Little Stampers December 2017 CAS Challenge

Good evening

And welcome to our last batch of challenges for 2017 over at Happy Little Stampers.  The Watercolour challenge is already up and running, and the rest will kick off over the next few days.  But today it's the turn of the CAS Challenge, and here's our cue card for this month...

And don't forget, there's a $20 coupon for the HLS shop for one lucky winner!

I don't often make New Year cards but they are certainly handy to have in your stash.  I have a friend who is always away in December and at Christmas, and always goes before I'm organised enough to get my cards sent out, so this one will be winging it's way to her on her return.

Here's my card...

On a panel of white cardstock I blended an ombre background with Distress Inks.  It's actually a little darker than it appears in these photographs as I wanted to portray an evening sky.  I stamped the London skyline from HLS in black ink and then stamped the fireworks and heat embossed in different powders.  The panel was die cut with a stitched rectangle die, and some gold mirri card cut from the next size up die from the same set.  I simply adhered the two together, mounted on my card base and stamped the sentiment below.  The embossing can be seen more clearly in the photo below...

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Happy Little Stampers - Wish You Were Here; Clearly Besotted - Dandelion Dreams; Reverse Confetti - Clink
  • Ink: Distress Ink - Faded Jeans, Wilted Violet; Versafine - Onyx Black; VersaMark
  • Embossing Glitter: Wow! - Metallic Gold Sparkle, Metallic Silver Sparkle; All Night Media - Crystal Sparkle
  • Die: MFT Die-namics - Stitched Rectangle Stax
  • Gold mirri card from stash

Thanks for stopping by.  Please do pop over to the main HLS blog where you'll find lots more inspiration from my fab teamies and don't forget to check back over the coming week to check out the rest of the challenges for December.  All of the challenges are open to link up until the end of the month.
